Cuando piensa en la palabra mochila casi siempre piensa en escuela. Mochilas son las mas utilizadas para llevar los libros a las clases. Pero pueden ser mas que una manera de llevando libros pesados al hogar.

If you’re a big fan of action drama TV then you’re probably no stranger to Jack Bauer and 24. For 8 seasons (coming back for a ninth now) Jack has been saving the country from every kind of bad guy you can imagine. Why hasn’t the president and washington figured it out yet that when Jack says or does something he’s right? It’s like those Dos Equis commercials and the most interesting man in the world; if Jack Bauer disagrees with you it is because you are wrong…PERIOD! But, I digress.

For 8 seasons now Jack has been carrying Homeland and CTU on his soldiers and keeping them from screwing up and he’s been doing it in style!

Jack Bauer defending the country with his “Messenger Bag Of Death” as I like to call it. Let’s face it, if you have to save the country with a MacGyver type wit and a Chuck Norris axe kick to the head or your nemesis; the least you can do is to do it with style!

So, with Jack and his messenger bag of death I have recently become addicted to messenger bags, I’m a messenger bag junky!  I mean come on! How cool can you really be!? Well my friends let me outline a few below so you can see just how bad my addiction has become.

1. CaseLogic - Canvas Bags

I mean these things are just awesome! I’m convinced that if Jack knew about this bag he’d be toting it everywhere and still have room in the pockets for hands of the injust and his PDA of doom! And the price is enough to make even Chuck Norris cure cancer, er I mean cry.

2. Jansport - Elefunkay!

Save the world and be Super at the same time! If ever Tom Welling from Smallville needed a matching accessory to his red jacket, it’s this bag! Let’s face it! Superman doesn’t have much in that spandex for carryin, what if he’s grounded in China without his passport and computer? That would be horrible! I mean the man of steel detained in a foreign country without a method of identification and access to bablefish!? PASHAW! This bag would work great and still work with his ensemble!  

3. Skinny Jeaners of the World UNITE!

If you dig the retro, and wear skinny jeans too, I don’t not a big fan that and I don’t have a butt to keep them on; you would probably LOVE these bags from Mobile Edge! Turn heads, make people take a second look so you can poke their eyes out as you save the world from fashionless misfits infesting our country today!

4. Chuck Norris - Though he doesn’t NEED anything, he WANTS this one.

Ok, so let’s face it, what does a man who doesnt do push ups but rather pushes the world down need? Answer: Nothing. But you gotta admit, this bag makes even the master of World Of Warcraft humor drool! I mean really! If yer overseas hidden in a third world country and trying to blend in as your enemy presses down on you from all sides, the bag with the lady’s face won’t work! But to have a bag that could hold your total gym! Now THAT’s a bag! This bag is rugged, trim, and sleek looking for that not-so-stick-out crowd!

Bottom line, if you dig 24 you dig messenger bags, if you dig messenger bags and you have one you LOVE, let me know! I’m looking for my next purchase already!

It’s back to school season, and I think it might be a good idea to show off some of the new JanSport backpack patterns for the 2009 season. These colors and patterns are available on most JanSport backpacks, including the SuperBreak, Big Student Pack, and Half Pint. Be sure to let us know which one you like the best.

The Cuban Brown Splatter Skull is my personal favorite. Featuring a mix of skulls and stars, this pattern is definitely the coolest one this season. Next is the Black/White Day Dreaming, which features wild lunar graphics in bright blue and pink This pattern is a surefire way to get noticed! On the more traditional/preppy end is the Calypso Blue Plaid Argyle pattern. The mix of argyle and plaid is east coast stylish through and through. Now we move from east coast to the 1960’s. The New Hot Pink/White/Newbud Green Summer69 is a cool throw-back patter, featuring bright pink sides and dotted peace signs. Finally, the Black/Calypso Blue Dark Side Plaid/ Calypso Blue is the definition of eclectic. This pattern is a mixture of plaid, solid, and lunar, and rock star. Overall, pretty awesome!

It’s Back To School season! As if you couldn’t tell by all the ads out there. So instead of talking about the latest backpack deals or praising the virtues of a particular backpack brand, I’d like to take a different approach to the subject.

Working here at eBags, I’ve come to know the website very well. In fact, I’ve found some pretty interesting and unique products available. Can anyone say coffee carrier? All of our latest blog have revolved around back to school backpacks. But what about those of us who use messenger bags? Well, if you are one of those people, I’ve got you covered. Here are some the hottest messenger bags to hit the streets!

Lately, there has been a lot of discussion around the eBags office regarding wheeled vs. un-wheeled or traditional carry backpacks. It appears the office seems to be divided into two camps; those who much prefer the convenience of a wheeled backpack, and those who prefer the style and selection of a carry backpack. Although I will not reveal which side I have taken, I thought this a good topic to discus. Therefore, let’s visit the pros and cons of wheeled backpacks.

Pros: Wheeled backpacks are becoming more and more popular. Why? Because they are EASY! No one wants to drag around 50 pounds of anything on their back. Many students and business professionals have found that rolling their packs is much easier then carrying them. This is especially true for younger kids who have a long walk to the bus stop. Additionally, many of us use our backpacks for travel. Being able to simply roll your backpack through an airport can be truly convenient. On another note, I read that in their life time 8 out of 10 Americans will suffer from back pain. That’s a lot of people! A great way to help reduce the likelihood of back pain is to NOT CARRY THINGS ON YOUR BACK. Rolling backpacks are a great answer to this problem.

Cons: Rolling backpacks do have some drawbacks. First, if you ever do plan on carrying them on your back, rolling backpacks weight a lot more than traditional backpacks. This not good for younger kids who may want to both roll and carry their packs. Rolling backpacks also have limited selection and are typically not considered as trendy or stylish as traditional backpacks. So for those of you who have an exact style or color in mind, you may not find a rolling backpack that meets your needs. Also, rolling backpacks are not as versatile as traditional backpacks, in the sense that you cannot have a rolling backpack that you use for, say, both school and skiing.

Summary: On the upside rolling backpacks are great for long distance carriers and for those of us who have or are afraid of developing back problems. They are also convenient for travel. On the downside, rolling backpacks weight more than traditional backpacks, and are not as stylish or versatile.

All in all, wheeled or un-wheeled backpacks are simply a matter of personal preference. But fill us in! We would love to hear your opinion on the matter!
