The average household does almost 400 loads of laundry each year, consuming approximately 50,000 liters of water. By greening your laundry habits you’re not only reducing your environmental footprint by reducing your energy and water use, you’ll also save money and protect your health and prolong the lifespan of your clothes.

The alternative is let clothing dry in the dryer for 2-5 minutes, then hang on hangers on one of those rolling racks. No wrinkles and very low energy use. I’ve been doing laundry like this for many years.
