It’s back to school time here in California! While I don’t have any kids, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for newly sharpened pencils, crisp notepads, thick books and backpacks. What this translates to today is office accessories and desktop goodies, since my days at school are long past.
Here’s a few of my favorites for this fall.
1. New Laptop Bag
I just bought a new 14 inch laptop—it’s lightweight and so easy to tote around. I can fit it in most of my larger purses, actually, but to really protect it, I bought this Clark & Mayfield Vintage Leather Tote. It’s lightweight, can fit laptops up to 15 inches, and there’s plenty of extra room in there for my regular purse stuff, too! I love the vintage look and the bright blue for fall.
2. Kindle Case
I’ve been throwing my kindle in my purse or car, but it’s time I protect it from getting beat up. Sure, it may not be an office item, but it is something I take with me and enjoy on my lunch breaks! This leather case from rooCASE does all that I need: it protects my Kindle but I’m able to prop it up on my desk or airplane tray for optimal viewing.
3. Sharpie Pens
I’m a confessed sharpie-addict, and no office should be complete without a set of pens. I use them to highlight, edit and take notes, and I’ve done this for as long as I can remember. Old habits die hard, right?
4. Mail Sorter
It’s time to regain some sanity this fall. I found this antique mail sorter on Etsy. Rather than allow files, mail, to-do lists and more to build up in my home office, this sorter is perfect for organizing and for storing odds and ends. (Image source: Etsy)
5. Evernote App
This app has changed my life. I can create lists on the web or phone; create checklists and reminders and more. I use this to set daily and weekly goals, create shopping and packing lists, and take notes. (Image source: Evernote)
6. Desk lamp
We all need more light in our lives. It was driving me nuts working in my dark office with just one corner lamp after the sun went down. This beauty shines all night, is adjustable and has a far reach for my huge corner desk. (Image source: Pottery Barn).
