The eBags Brand TLS Professional Slim Laptop Backpack is already the BMOC (big man on campus) around here. With 2,043 glowing customer reviews to date and dozens of office evangelists putting its carefully considered features to the test during their daily commute, it begs the question: how could this sleek little bag could get any smarter? Answer: by giving it a BRAIN.
Everybody Needs a Brainy Bag
So who needs a bag with a brain? If you’ve ever left your laptop—including your honeymoon photos and the big sales presentation you’ve been working on for weeks, on a plane—YOU do. If you’ve ever spent 20 minutes looking for keys or sunnies that were in the bottom of your purse or touched down in a foreign country without an essential medication, you know what it’s like to live in an increasingly connected world…and yet still have to rely on your incredible-yet-fallible human brain to keep it all together.
This scenario got us thinking: what if the TLS Professional Slim could not only carry your stuff but keep track of it, too? It’s a question that local technology start-up, Twyst, had been asking themselves as well. Twyst had already made tech headlines (and raised our bag-loving eyebrows) by developing a “smart shopping bag” that revolutionized the in-store shopping experience by cataloging everything customers put in it. Adding this kind of technology to eBags Brand products seemed like a natural progression towards smarter, more connected travel—which is kind of our thing.
The World’s Smartest Professional Backpack
That’s how TLS Connect: The World’s Smartest Professional Backpack was born. So how does it work? By fitting the pack with an RFID-reading chip, we can enable users to connect any belongings they carry on a regular basis—from laptops to keys to medications and beyond—to the backpack itself. The chip is linked to a smartphone app that registers and stores each item, so the TLS Connect can immediately send a message to the user’s smartphone if something is missing or removed. TLS Connect comes with RFID adhesive tags to link the pack to up to 50 unique belongings.

Krista’s passion for exploration and world travel was ignited in college when she packed her suitcase and moved to Sweden to study International Business for a year. She hopped on a train or plane every weekend from her home in Uppsala and traveled throughout Europe, making new friends and new memories along the way. Soon after her college career ended, she felt the tug of wanderlust again, and this time went even further…to live on the beach down under in a little place called Australia! Krista’s traveling habit started stacking up frequent flyer miles and she didn’t have a way to organize or utilize all of the points she was earning. So she decided to take matters into her own hands and founded UsingMiles , a company that would help frequent flyers and road warriors become mile moguls. Fast forward to today and you will find Krista engaging with travelers from all over the world to help them find the perfect bag. And of course, planning her next trip.
